French artist Erwin Dazelle, who was selected by Daytona International Speedway to design the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona poster and event program cover, is on site at the racetrack to dedicate poster prints for VIP guests and race fans.
Dazelle’s poster for the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona, depicts the winning No. 58 Brumos Racing Porsche that Donohue, Law, Rice and Garcia drove to victory in the closest finish in event history at the 47th edition of the race in 2009 as well as an iconic image of the Rolex 24 At Daytona – the Ferris Wheel.
“Erwin Dazelle has captured the true spirit of the Rolex 24 At Daytona,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig says. “Year in and year out, the Rolex 24 At Daytona brings the top drivers from around the world together with the stars of the Rolex Grand-Am Series for the true test of driver and machine and sports car fans are going to want to make sure to get a print of this one-of-a-kind Rolex 24 At Daytona poster as well as the event program.”
The 35-year-old Dazelle from Bayonne is one of the top artists in the Southwest of France and the Basque country. Dazelle is a multi-talented artist who has mastered stained glass, clay and plaster modelling as well as painting. He began painting professionally in 1996 and after exhibitions in Paris, Nice and Bayonne in France, Sevilla and Bilbao in Spain, San Diego and Paso Robles, California, Dazelle is aiming for a successful international career.
“I am so proud to have been selected to design this poster,” Dazelle says. “The team involved wanted to create a unique and vibrant piece of art that racing fans of all ages will love to hang on their wall. This is my first motor sports painting and I look forward to interacting with the racing community and the fans in the future.”

About Rolex Motorsports - Rolex’s presence in motorsports began in the 1930s with Malcolm Campbell. While wearing a Rolex Oyster in 1935, he was the first person to drive an automobile over 300 miles per hour, setting a new land speed record. Rolex truly solidified its position in the sport in 1959 when it began an association with the Daytona International Speedway in Florida and later became the title sponsor of its pre-eminent endurance race, the Rolex 24 At Daytona, in 1992. It was shortly after its initial affiliation with the race track that Rolex introduced a watch designed for lovers of speed, the Cosmograph Daytona, which allowed its wearer to clock elapsed times and calculate average speeds.
Rolex is involved in sponsorships of some of the most prestigious events in the motorsport industry. Endurance races such as the Rolex 24 At Daytona, The 24 Hours of Le Mans, the European Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series have been a critical piece of the Rolex portfolio. In addition, Rolex has supported the bygone era of racing by celebrating design, speed, passion and endurance in sponsoring historic races such as the Goodwood Revival and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, as well as concours events such as The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Pebble Beach Tour D’Elegance presented by Rolex, and The Quail, a Motorsport Gathering.
